15Night/16Days Everest Base Camp Trekking
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350 meters)
Arriving at Kathmandu Airport, our office representative of Alfresco Adventure Travel will meet and access you at the airport and transfer you to hotel. Then you will have some free time explore Thamel. Overnight at hotel Kathmandu.
Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley
After breakfast, the company representative and your trekking guide will meet you on the hotel and discus about all programs and coordinate any last-minute arrangements. After staff meeting, one of the our professional tour guides will take you for a sightseeing trip for 3 hours and then back to the hotel. Rest of the day can be used for travelling around Thamel and buying any last minute equipment and other necessities items. Overnight at hotel
Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2804 meters) trek to Phakding (2610 meters) 3 hours.
An early morning start takes us to Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35 minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla at 2804meters. Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding at 2610meters.After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sorts and loads our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Koshi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2713m). The walking is easy and after passing through the small village of Ghat (2550m) it is a short walk to Phakding. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 05: Namche Bazaar Acclimatization day.
We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air, as well as a short trek where a museum is celebrating the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. Today we hike up the Syangboche Airport around Everest View Hotel. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas with stunning sunrise and sunset over the panorama of Khumbu peaks. Day 06: Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3860 m.) 5 hours.
The trek starts with a tough climbing on the hill for around ten minutes but then flattens out and jig jags through the small pine forest. There is more chance to see the mountain goats and himalayan pheasant (called Munal in Nepali), which is the national bird of Nepal. At the same time, you can enjoy the sight of some of the world highest, and most beautiful mountains. It really is a sight to behold. We continue walking to follow the trail as it winds its way up and down towards Tengboche. Tengboche where is the oldest local Buddhiest monastery is situated. We visit inside which is incredibly decorated with ornate wall hangings, a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha, and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas. Over night at tea house on full board basis
Day 07: Trek to Dingboche (4350 meters) 5.30 hours.
From Tengboche the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We take our time so we avoid getting affected by the altitude. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 08: Dingboche Acclimatization day.
Today you are going to enjoy another day of acclimatization and rest. We suggest to you to do some small hiking trips around the area, which are very good for acclimatization. Go higher and sleep lower is what is recommended. We climb a small hill near by for a couple of hours and back to hotel for lunch and a rest. Over night at tea house on full board basis
Day 09: Trek to Lobuche (4910 meters) 5 hours.
Today, the trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits.We continue to climb as we are heading to the altitude of 4910 meters at Lobuche which is really just a few huts at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5365 m.) and back to Gorak Shep (5180 meters). 8 hours.
This is the day when your dreams come true. We trek for two and a half hours to reach Gorak Shep and have some lunch. We leave the bags in the tea house and start off again along the Khumbu Glacier up to the worlds highest mountains base camp at 5365m. You will enjoy the view of the Khumbu Icefall and Khumbu glacier from base camp. Then we return back to Gorak Shep. Over night at tea house on full board basis
Day 11: Hike up to Kalapatthar (5555 meters) early in the morning and trek down to Periche (4200 meters). 7 hours.
This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of morning in this day is spent climbing Mt. KalaPatthar, a small peak (by Himalayan standards) at 5555meters. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 29028 ft, 8848 meters, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at 5180 meters then trek down to Periche. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3441m.) 6-7 hours.
From Pheriche we go all the way down to Pangboche, then climb for 30min to Tangboche stop for lunch and make our way up and down to Namche Bazzar. Over night at tea house on full board basis
Day 13: Trek to Lukla (2804 meters) 6 hours.
Finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, which will seem like a lifetime ago; enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part anda lso giving you time to explore the town. Overnight at Guesthouse .
Day 14: Morning flight back to Kathmandu.
Enjoy the 35 minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel on BB basis
Day 15: Leisure day and farewell dinner in Kathmandu.
It's also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla. If you are interested in continuing on to Chitwan Jungle Safari, River Rafting Adventure, Kathmandu Shopping Tour you can start today. Please read our trip note about Lukla flight below. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances. How difficult is the Everest Base Camp Trek?
In terms of terrain there are no ropes needed and no ice picks needed. There is no vertical climbing involved.
The tril is rough, rocky and gravel strewn. Most of the trek involves long paths that go up and then down. People with weak ankles should take caution. Depending on the time of year you go there can also be snow and ice in the trails. Use caution or seek the expertise of our guide.

What equipment do I need to go trekking to Everest Base Camp Trek?
Trekking permits you need include the SNPE and TIMS available at agents and through the official Nepal Tourism Board offices (Mountain World Treks take care of this for you).
After that it depends on the time of year in regards to clothing and equipment. The following are necessities:
Keep in mind if you do the trek during the off-peak winter season you'll need to carry extra clothing. Wearing layers is essential as it can get hot during the day so you'll remove clothing then. While when the sun goes down it can get very cold very fast.
