Shivapuri Trek

Shivapuri Trekking, popular for the watershed and wild life area, is the second highest hill surrounding the Kathmandu valley rim. Trekking in Shivapuri is to commence at Budhanilkantha with the purpose to be amazed with pleasant views of the central and eastern mountain ranges, heavenly views of sunrise and sunset and is good introduction to Nepalese rural life. The end point of the trek appears with two options either at Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. It is an excellent trip for those who wish to avoid a long strenuous trek or only have time for a short and easy trek. 

Trek to Shivapuri can be done throughout the year as each season adds beauty and majesty to this trek. The view points at Nagarkot offers a long lasting experience that has many different options to enjoy the magic of mountains. The village of Nagarkot is on the edge of the valley and offers superb views of the mountains as well as Kathmandu valley.

    Day 03 Kathmandu - Shivapuri

    Drive to Buddhanilkantha and walk along the roads and check in the park. Pass the nun monastery and continues to up hill and get in the pine jungle. Camp at meadow near by Bagdour, which is source of Bagmati River. 

    Day 04 Shivapuri - Chisapani Dhap 
    Duration: 6 hrs 
    Height: 2100m 
    We walk through the forest to the popular hill town of Nagarkot, from where spectacular views of Gaurishankar and Mt. Everest are to be had. 

    Day 05 Chisapani Dhap-Nagarkot 
    Duration: 7 hrs 
    Height: 2099m

    Day 06 Nagarkot- Kathamandu 
    Duration: 4 hrs trek+1 hrs drive 
    Height: 1300m 
    Early morning view of sunrise and walk down hill to Chanagunarayan, situated at the end of along ridge which runs well into the valley, it is said to have been built in 323 A.D. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. Drive to Kathmandu for Overnight.
